Bel, Ruzell and I went to Anawangin and Capones Islands in San Antonio, Zambales sometime in April to experience what they call "buwis-buhay" adventure.
Let the following pictures explain why we had this "buwis-buhay" adventure, and yes we enjoyed it a lot. This is something we don't usually do every time we go out of town, right? Before I packed my things 2 days before the trip, I was able to see some blogs posted by local tourists who have been to the said islands, and believe me, none of the bloggers mentioned that going to the lighthouse itself would require you Herculean strength......and even though we are self-confessed "lampa", we were able to reach the lighthouse in about an hour or two of walking/trekking and headed to the rocky shoreline and had a short climb and quickly found our way to the lighthouse.......

from the shore to where we seated, we have to climb as high as 4-storey building to get to this area | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

this may look a short shoreline but its not! |

we had a 30 minute trekking from the shoreline just to get to the top of the hill and see the lighthouse |

this picture was taken behind the lightbulb of the lighthouse |

we made sure that every part of the lighthouse was visited, we may not know when are we going to go back to this island again.... |

on our way down from the lighthouse. we reached the lighthouse in an hour from the shore but were able to go down half the time we spent going up |
Having seen the lighthouse finally, you can’t help realize how important it is to take care of our nature. It was an amazing weekend and surely, despite of a tedious walk just to get to this island, i would still love to go back to this place we call "
Faro de Punta Capones", commonly known as the
Capones Island Lighthouse.
the ruins of Capones Island, thank you for this wonderful experience my friend.
